Access Methods
General Notes:
Due to the relatively low inode quota on Granite compared to active file systems users are strongly encouraged to bundle data up prior to sending it to Granite. Data cannot be bundled while on Granite itself.
Globus
Globus is a web-based file transfer system that works in the background to move files between systems with Globus endpoints. Go to Transferring Files - Globus for instructions on using Globus with NCSA computing resources.
The Granite endpoint collection name is “NCSA Granite”.
Allocations via ACCESS are available at: /granite/nsf/access/[project-code]
S3
Whole allocations of specific sub-directories of your allocation can be exposed via S3. Granite leverages the Versity S3 Gateway to provide this functionality, more information about the Versity S3 Gateway can be found here.
To request an S3 endpoint for all (or part) of your allocation area, please submit a support request. Please let us know the path you would like made available via S3 and wether you want access to be read-only or read/write.
