Group Management
NCSA Group Management Tool
The NCSA Group Management Tool can be found on the NCSA Internal site under the project management menu item. This site requires you to log in with your NCSA username and Kerberos password. These are the same username and password that you use to setup your account on Radiant and log into the Radiant management site.
The Editable Groups tab includes the list of groups that you own and can edit. If you are the principal investigator (PI) of a Radiant project, you should find a group on that tab named Radiant_<project_accounting_code>. This group is where you can see and edit your project membership.
Note
Updates to group membership can take up to 1 hour to propagate to the system.
Adding and Removing Users from Your Project
To add new users to your project/group:
Click on the group name.
Enter the name or NCSA username of the person you want to add in the field.
Click the add person button.
If the person doesn’t have an NCSA account, invite them to create one.
To remove a project/group member:
Click on the group name.
Click the red dot to the right of email address of the person you want to remove.
Adding a Delegate to Your Project
To add another person to help manage your group and group membership, click the box that says View/Modify group maintainers. Maintainers have full permissions to manage group membership and invites until they are removed by the group owner.
Inviting New People to Your Project
If you want to add a person to your project group that doesn’t have an NCSA account:
Click the tab on the top of your group listing that says Invitation Info.
Generate and/or copy the invite URL:
If you have done this before, you will see a URL that you can copy and provide to a new user. This URL is a direct invite to your group.
If you have not done this before, click the Generate Group Invitation button to generate a URL that you can copy and provide to a new user. This URL is a direct invite to your group.
Note
A generated URL can be used by any number of users to create accounts through NCSA Identity. If you generate a new URL for your project, any old URLs will no longer work.
Approve the new user(s). After a new user has followed the URL and created an NCSA Identity, they will be added to a list for you to approve.
