Access Methods

SSH Access & Globus

Harbor is presented as /u and /sw on non-ACHE systems. To access it, simply SSH into the cluster(s)/environments that you have access to. Note, for a variety of reasons, most systems do not share common /u and /sw areas. However, starting mid-January 2025, all Illinois research platforms (ICCP Batch/HTC and ICRN) will leverage a common /u area on Harbor.

Use cluster-specific Globus endpoints for data transfers in and out of Harbor; there is no central Harbor Globus endpoint.

NFS & S3

For per-TB allocations on Harbor, access is provided via NFS and/or S3. Unless there is a specific need, NFS is recommended. For your allocation, the Storage Enabling Technology (SET) team will collect IP addresses and/or subnets and create an export.
