Harbor User Documentation

Introduction

Harbor is NCSA’s Global Home and SW platform. The system provides a common infrastructure for all $HOME (mounted /u) and Software (/sw or /apps) areas for clusters that are not part of the NCSA Advanced Computational Health Enclave (ACHE) environment. Additionally, Harbor has a limited capacity to store data for uptime-critical services.

The system leverages VAST Data’s Ceres enclosure platform in conjunction with Ice Lake Xeon based CBoxes. Currently, the architecture is a 3C (CBox) x 2D (DBox) configuration.

Access to Harbor is available via NFS (VAST-compiled or OS-stock) and S3.
